***********************************************

I am honored to show you my submission for the
Retro Pillow Challenge:
What do you think?
I found my inspiration while browsing a Disney site and stumbled across this Mickey Bag. Isn't it cute?

The Black fabric has some really cool details on it that reminded me of a retro pattern.
I quilted stripes across the black fabric (about ever 2 inches side to side)

I added two layers of Mickey applique in coordinating fabric and quilted each of them on top of the black fabric
It's sooo soft and cuddly!

My kids are going to LOVE it :)

(Here is the   FRONT    and    BACK     of myPillow)

You can even VOTE on your favorite!

I'll be posting a step by step tutorial of how I made my pillow this weekend!

FOOTLOOSE! The Movie. Sneak Preview. Giveaway!!!

This week I was able to see a sneak peak of the new movie
Starring...
 Julianne Hough,  Kenny Wormald
Andie MacDowell & Dennis Quaid

First of all... I'm a huge dancing fan.

I would have seen this movie for many reasons,

but Julianne Hough playing Ariel Moore was just one more reason!
Julianne Hough is the bomb at dancing. :)

OK... Movie Review time....
4 out of 4 stars!

Killer Movie. Fantastic Soundtrack.
Hot guys dancing to rock music!
What else can a girl ask for?

What else can we ask for...
...Oh ya... how about MEETING THE STARS!!

(L-R, Julianne Hough, Friend Lucy, Kenny Wormald, ME!)

Wow!
I can't even tell you how cool that was to meet
Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald!

They are both super nice, friendly and "real" people!
After the movie sneak peak they stuck around and answered questions from the theater.
Here is a short clip...

Afterwords the stars hung around until everyone had a chance to take a photo with them.  Talk about TRUE MOVIE STARS
I think it was the highlight of my week, seriously.

(Sidenote- if only I had KNOWN I was going to take a photo with a movie star I might have gotten a little more "made-up" for the night! argh!!)

WIN IT!!

I picked up a couple of these Footloose premiere magazines on the way out.

Here are this week's questions!

1. What are your favorite 3 things about fall?
2. Are you a football fan and if so who is your favorite team?
3. What is your favorite fall scent?
4. So you have seasonal allergies?
5. Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

Here are my answers!

1. What are your favorite 3 things about fall?
Cooler Weather, Decorating and Holidays!

2. Are you a football fan and if so who is your favorite team?
First let me say I don't hate football.
I also don't super-love it.  I tolerate it I suppose :)
We cheer for the AZ Cardinals.  I can handle about 1 game on Sunday and that's it ;)

3. What is your favorite fall scent?
I dislike anything pumpkin flavor or scented! yuck-ville
I'll go with vanilla ;)

4. So you have seasonal allergies?
YES! In fact, in the spring I break out in hives occasionally.
Am I lucky or WHAT?!

5. Have you started Christmas shopping yet?
Just window shopping in my head so far.
No purchases made :) But Ideas all around!

    Cat Litter Cake Tutorial

And now... I present the Cat Litter Cake:

    Pretty icky, Right?

I saw this a while back and knew I needed to try it out for myself.
My brother's 40th Birthday was the PERFECT event.

    Let's get started.

    Step 1: Assemble Ingredients
Baking pans from the dollar store (same size as the litter pan)
Nerds (for fancy green specs found in cat litter)
Tootsie Rolls (for, well, the Poop)
     Step 2: Prepare the pan
Cat litter Pan (this is just a regular old tupperware container)
    Found at the dollar store!
I baked two cakes in total, enough to fill up the litter box :)
     TIP: Please oh PLEASE.....
Run the "cat litter pan" through your dish washer!
Maybe even do this step a couple of times just to be safe.

Step 3: Layer the cake in the pan.
(I cut up one layer and stacked it along the edge so there were no random open spaces along the edge)

    Step 4: Cover with Frosting
Step 5:  Make the cat litter
Grind up about 20 sandwich cookies.
I found that the tuxedo cookies worked great for the coloring!

Step 6: Cover cake with cat litter!
Step 7: Add green odor specs
    aka... Nerds candy

Step 8:   Prepare the Tootsie Rolls :)
Heat in the microwave for 5 seconds and unwrap
Step 9:  Get Creative ... make poop!
(KidMo LOVED helping on this step!)

I shaped two Tootsie Rolls in the shape of a "40"
    for the special occasion :)

     Ta-Da!
And now you can make your very own Cat Litter Cake!
Oh... and don't forget to pick up a pooper scooper while you are at the Dollar Store!  It makes a perfect accent to the cake :)

OK - Let the comments ROLL in!
What do you REALLY think of this cake?

    Funny?
    Disgusting?
    Let's hear it! :)
My family had a blast with the cake.
The kids thought it was hillarious... but were too afraid to eat the "poop"
The adults couldn't stop taking photos of it.

    Happy Birthday Big Brother!
    Here's to 40 More years!

    Truthful Tuesday on Wednesday

    Hi All!

Sorry for posting my Truthful Tuesday on Wednesday... I hope you understand.
Me and the Kidlets are sick and things are moving a little slower around the house these days.

So, without further ado... I present Truthful Tuesday on Wednesday :)

    Welcome to another week of...

    NightOwlCrafting

    Here are this week's questions!

    1. Do you prefer sweet or salty foods?
    2. Name your 3 BEST personality traits!
    3. Name your 3 worst personality traits!
    4. Do you collect anything?
    5. What is your favorite season of the year?
    Here are my answers!

    1. Do you prefer sweet or salty foods?
If you know me, you know I am a SWEETS fanatic.
On the morning of my wedding day I ate cheesecake for breakfast! That's how I roll ;)
Now that I'm working on being more healthy and fit, I'm limiting my sweet intake and doing very well!
    2. Name your 3 BEST personality traits!
I've always tried to be kind to everyone, honest and sincere.
    3. Name your 3 worst personality traits!
I tend to think MY way is the best way,  I don't like to pay full price for anything (ever), and I tend to take over any vacation plans because I can't release control! LOL
    4. Do you collect anything?
I used to collect all sorts of things as a kid/teenager (figurines, horses, bells, you name it). I've let go of that because after you move a bunch of times and never unpack it you realize it wasn't that important to you. :)
Right now I collect fabric :)
    5. What is your favorite season of the year?
Fall and Winter are my favorite.  Being in Arizona you just DREAD the summer.  110' degrees gets old after a week.  I can't wait to start decorating the house for the fall and really start to enjoy being outside again.

Now it is your turn to play along!!!!

    Here are the RULES!!
Here's how it will work, each  Tuesday I'll post a few questions. They can be anything from What's your  favorite color to What's your favorite movie.
