MoMomma Monday Lik Up with Pinterest!

Happy Monday!

Here's a sneak peak of what is on my "to-do" list:

I'm making (and planning) a memory quilt in memory of my Mother.
I've been pinning quilt ideas to use scraps of old clothing for each of us to have a quilt to remember my Mother by. I think they will turn out beautiful.

Do you have any quilt ideas? If so, let's see them on MoMomma Monday Link up!
I've posted a lot of my ideas on Pinterest. Come follow me there!

Mother May I...

Mother's Day 2012
Mother May I ...
... Be your best friend
...Tell you secrets
...Learn your baking secrets
...Ask you for advice
...Borrow your clothes
...Laugh with you
...Learn from your mistakes
...Call you on the phone
...Watch soap operas with you
...Learn from your wisdom
... Hold your hand
...Stop by just to say hi
...Look up to you
... Lean on you in hard times
...Ask for your opinion
...Do nothing, together, and love every minute
...Learn to draw from you
...Listen to your stories
...Go shopping with you
...Do your hair
...Celebrate holidays with you
...Embarrass you
...Learn patience from you
...Shower you with hugs
...Admire your strength
... Bless you with Grandchildren
...Pray for you
...Make you proud

Mother...May I be the daughter you want me to be.

I hope you look down from Heaven and are proud of me
and of the the boys we are raising.

My blog was started as a way to document my fumbling path through motherhood.
I'm still learning the ropes of motherhood
Each day has it's own challenges-the good and the bad.
I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Now the road of Motherhood is even tougher
without my Mother here on Earth to guide me and to be at my side.

Everything I learned, I learned from my Mother
and I'll spend the rest of my life teaching those things to my sons.

Happy Mothers day Mom :)
We miss you.

Ready for a NEW project! Look what I bought!

Ok... I'm ready for a new project!
I need to get my creative juices flowing again.

Today I made a snap purchase at the rummage sale at my son's elementary school.

For $5.00 I snapped up this big entertainment center.
And, they were nice enough to drive it down the street to my house for $5.00 more :)
This guy needs a little TLC... but I think I can make it shine :)
It's got good bones, and it's actually nice the the doors and trim are sort of coming off already.. it will make it easier to take apart to paint! LOL

I'm envisioning it up in the loft playroom for the kids area.

Just imagine it all painted white...
I'll use some pretty beadboard on the back.
Maybe paint the beadboard in an accent color.
What do you think?!?

I'm going to use THIS tutorial from Jen at I Heart Organizing.
She makes it look easy... I'll have to report back and let you know how it goes.

A Glimpse Into Heaven

In February my family suffered a huge loss.
We were witness to a Glimpse into Heaven...
... one that we were not ready for.

I'm just now mustering up the courage to write about it.
So, you'll have to forgive me if I'm not ready to discuss the details of what's happened here yet.
My immediate family is extremely private.
We've chosen not to talk about this lose on facebook and the likewise.
In fact, only my closest circle of friends know about this loss.
So, should you wish to leave your thoughts or condolences, please feel free to do so on this blog post.

I'm not sure how anyone deals with the loss of a loved one.
I think the only way to get through this time is to turn yourself over to Heavenly Father and ask for help. To lean on those around you. Take time to strengthen those relationships which we still have on Earth and try to learn more about those who have passed on and are angels in Heaven.  Seek His Spirit - and then try to listen.

I am grateful to know our Heavenly Father's eternal plan.
I know we will all live together one day again, and that my FAMILY IS FOREVER..
That knowledge is peaceful to me.
It gets me through the tough days. (and there are many)
(photo of the podium at the service)

Here is a poem I asked my husband to read at the Memorial Service.
I think it's beautifully written. Seek now to find Christ in your life so that you too can have peace when times are difficult and we are separated "for a time" from those that we love.

Please take a moment to read through the poem and watch the video at the end of this passage.

If You Could See Where I Have Gone

If you could see where I have gone, the beauty of this place
And how it feels to know you're home to see the Savior's face.
To wake in peace and know no fear, just joy beyond compare,
While still on earth you miss me yet, you wouldn't want me there
If you could see where I have gone.

If you could see where I have gone, had made the trip with me,
You'd know I didn't go alone, the Savior came with me,
When I awoke, He was by my side, and reached down His hand.
Said, "Hurry, you're going home to a grand and glorious land."
Don't worry over those you love, for I'm not just with you,
And don't you know when you're with me, they'll long to be here, too?"

If you could see where I have gone, and see what I've been shown.
You'd never know another fear, or ever feel alone.
You'd marvel at the grace of God, his hand on every life,
And realize He really cares, and bears with us each strife,
And that he weeps when one is lost, his heart is filled with pain.
But Oh the joy when one comes home, a child at home again.

If you could see where I have gone, could stay awhile with me
Could share the things that God has made to grace eternity.
You would never, ever leave once heaven's joy you'd known,
You couldn't bear to walk earth's paths once heaven was your home.
If you could see where I have gone.

If you could see where I have gone, you'd know we'll meet someday.
And though I'm parted from you now, I am just away.
And now that I'm home with Him, secure in every way,
I'm waiting here at heaven's door to greet you some sweet day.

(Photo of Christ that I brought for the service. This is from Deseret Book if you are interested in finding one for yourself)

Thank you for those of you who know my family who have prayed and are still praying for us.
We appreciate your support during this time.

Bloggiversary: 1 Year Old!

Thanks for stopping by MoMomma!  If you like this site - Please become a GFC follower! Thanks

Happy Bloggiversary Everyone!

Can you believe I've been blogging at MoMomma for one year to date?
I began this blog January 6th 2011 - That was a quick year. WOW

Going back to my original blog posts I wanted to show my friends and family different ways to save money while raising their family.  I knew I wanted my blog to be about Family, Food, Crafts and Church.  These are the things that I enjoy every day so they were natural topics for me.

My 2011 family goal was to eat better, plan more meals and make family dinner time a priority.
Even with a small baby in the house, I'd say we did pretty good.

I started 2011 with my first Fry's Shopping Coupon adventure.
I still LOVE to coupon but I realize there are MANY couponing blogs out there who do it better,
so I'm going to leave it to the experts :)
I then started adding into the mix my Recipes and Recipe reviews.
My first recipe review for Fiesta Chicken.  Not our family's favorite but it was okay.
Turns out my readers dug the recipe reviews so I kept that as a constant feature.
And hey, who DOESN'T like to eat?  And - eat well!

Here is one of our favorite recipes from 2011:
Waffle Maker Pizza

Through the year I also shared a little about my Family...
Milestones of BabyMo & KidMo

Baby Boy -Puppy Dog Nursery Reveal

Then... We tackled some PERSONAL topics...
FIRST- I showed you all the GREY HAIR the baby gave me...

THEN- I chopped it all off!!!

Pretty fun... RIGHT?

I had a few serious posts as well - like THIS one where I shared my Testimony & Conversion story to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

And, celebrated another fantastic year married to MoDaddy

And my all blog post with the MOST hits was:
KidMo's Cars 2 Birthday Party & Cake

I've gained Bloggy-Friends from ALL over!
A quick shout out to my readers in New Zealand, Australia, UK, Canada, Ukraine, Brazil, Israel & Germany!  WOW!

If you are visiting from another country (or even state) leave me a comment to say HELLO!

Thanks for an AMAZING first blogging year everyone!

There's MORE to come! Stay tuned!
hint: I can tell you I'm working on a HUGE room reveal... you're going to LOVE it!
