Bloggiversary: 1 Year Old!
*****************************
Thanks for stopping by MoMomma! If you like this site - Please become a GFC follower! Thanks
*****************************WOW!
Happy Bloggiversary Everyone!
Can you believe I've been blogging at MoMomma for one year to date?
I began this blog January 6th 2011 - That was a quick year. WOW
I began this blog January 6th 2011 - That was a quick year. WOW
Going back to my original blog posts I wanted to show my friends and family different ways to save money while raising their family. I knew I wanted my blog to be about Family, Food, Crafts and Church. These are the things that I enjoy every day so they were natural topics for me.
I started 2011 with my first Fry's Shopping Coupon adventure.
I still LOVE to coupon but I realize there are MANY couponing blogs out there who do it better,
so I'm going to leave it to the experts :)
I then started adding into the mix my Recipes and Recipe reviews.
My first recipe review for Fiesta Chicken. Not our family's favorite but it was okay.
Turns out my readers dug the recipe reviews so I kept that as a constant feature.
And hey, who DOESN'T like to eat? And - eat well!
Here is one of our favorite recipes from 2011:
Waffle Maker Pizza
My 2011 family goal was to eat better, plan more meals and make family dinner time a priority.
Even with a small baby in the house, I'd say we did pretty good.I started 2011 with my first Fry's Shopping Coupon adventure.

Through the year I also shared a little about my Family...
Milestones of BabyMo & KidMo
Baby Boy -Puppy Dog Nursery Reveal
Then... We tackled some PERSONAL topics...
FIRST- I showed you all the GREY HAIR the baby gave me...
THEN- I chopped it all off!!!
Pretty fun... RIGHT?
I had a few serious posts as well - like THIS one where I shared my Testimony & Conversion story to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
And, celebrated another fantastic year married to MoDaddy
And my all blog post with the MOST hits was:
KidMo's Cars 2 Birthday Party & Cake
I've gained Bloggy-Friends from ALL over!
A quick shout out to my readers in New Zealand, Australia, UK, Canada, Ukraine, Brazil, Israel & Germany! WOW!
If you are visiting from another country (or even state) leave me a comment to say HELLO!
Thanks for an AMAZING first blogging year everyone!
There's MORE to come! Stay tuned!
hint: I can tell you I'm working on a HUGE room reveal... you're going to LOVE it!

In case you missed it - I am a self confessed Choco-Holic!
I'm here to prove that even Chocoholics can get fit in 2012.
I've been using Lindsay Brin's Mom's Into Fitness DVD's (See right ->)
And, my hubby got me a totally cool ZUMBA DVD Wii game For Christmas. I haven't tried it out yet but it looks SOooOOO fun!
Finding time for even just a short work out is tough for me. I work full time, and have a family with two little boys that keep me super busy!
I mix in work outs where I can but I need to tweek my diet.
I need something convenient and delicious to add to the mix.
So I was thrilled to hear about these options form Slim Fast!

A slim fast bar that looks like a candy bar. YUM!
For me Slim-Fast is the ULITMATE Chocoholic weight loss solution.
This makes me look forward to 2012 Resolutions.
I know with these convenient shakes I won't miss breakfast anymore:

I am amazed at how easy Slim-Fast makes it for us!
Their 3-2-1 plan gives you 3 snacks (Slim Fast 100 calorie snacks, fruits or veggies) , 2 shakes or bars and 1 balanced meal per day.
Now THAT is a plan I can follow!
And, to make it even easier you can find these Slim-Fast products while shopping at your favorite stores like Target, Walmart and even Amazon.com!
Let's start 2012 together - chocolate fans unite :)

I Dream In Chocolate: Chocolate Butter Cookies
In case you haven't noticed,
I'm sort of in love with chocolate. Seriously.
I think I may even DREAM in chocolate sometimes!
Well, I know I Day-Dream in chocolate :)
The other day when I made these SUPER YUMMY
Butter Cookies from Texas Cottage
My first thought was....
"I wonder how these would taste in Chocolate?"
I'm here to report back
THEY TASTE AWESOME IN CHOCOLATE!
May I Present...
Chocolate Butter Cookies!
I used the same recipe from Sallie's Texas Cottage site,
And just swapped out the Yellow Cake Mix for Chocolate Cake Mix
Butter Cookies
4 sticks (2 cups) butter, softened (not margarine)
1 box CHOCOLATE cake mix
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
decorating sugar (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Let butter come to room temperature. Place all ingredients in a large bowl of an electric mixer. Mix on low until well blended. If the mixer is not heavy-duty, finish mixing by hand.
Fill a cookie press with cookie dough and press out on an ungreased cookie sheet about an inch apart.
Sprinkle with decorating sugar, if desired.

(We decorated ours with Ornaments -aka MnM's!)
Bake at 350 degrees F 8 to 10 minutes until very lightly browned on edges. Cool for a few minutes on cookie sheet. Transfer to paper towels or wire racks to finish cooling.
Don't be afraid to DREAM IN CHOCOLATE!
Operation Sippy Cup
Operation Sippy Cup
Is now in action!
Say good-bye Bottles, Hello Sippy Cups!
Now that BabyMo is just 13 months old it's time for the switch from baby bottle to Sippy Cup.
He hasn't been interested in Sippy Cups at ALL up until this point so I knew the switch would be a tough one.
I work Full Time and I often don't get to spend most of baby's "awake" hours with him.
So, I didn't want to leave this tormentuous (is that a word?) change over to Sippy Cups to someone else.
So, I didn't want to leave this tormentuous (is that a word?) change over to Sippy Cups to someone else.
I waited until Christmas Vacation to make the change when I knew I'd be with him for an entire 10 days straight.
Hence --> Operation Sippy Cup Has Begun!!
Here's a photo to let you know how the switch is going so far...
YUP.
That's my 13 month old having a meltdown.
"Common' Mom.... just give me a bottle!"
No, but seriously.
I've had to go cold turkey on this kid.
I hid ALL the bottles and We are not going back.
Aside from the 3am meltdown which consisted of 45 minutes of straight screaming,
I'd say we're doing okay!
(I'm an optimist - what can I say)
We've been almost 24 hours with NO bottles.
And, I think we're making some progress.
Check out these photos which were taken just 10 minutes after the meltdown above...
Dear Santa... please bring more Sippy Cups.
Sincerely, BabyMo & MoMomma
